Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Unit - Night Shift
About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) will work on the 6B Medical Unit, which accommodates 40 patients needing acute and/or chronic medical services. The unit provides care for a variety of conditions such as pneumonia, syncope, diabetes management, COPD, and altered mental status. The position involves working three 12-hour shifts each week, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Implement a relationship-based care model, fostering connections with patients, their families, and colleagues.
- Assess and document patient needs, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and provide appropriate care.
- Manage patient care plans, coordinate with other healthcare providers, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform treatments as necessary.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development activities to maintain competency in nursing practices.
Requirements
- RN License in Delaware or a Compact State
- BSN preferred or committed to acquiring BSN within 3 years of the hire date
- At least one year of med/surg experience as an RN
- BLS required
Qualifications
- Frequent exposure to biological elements with occasional exposure to chemical and environmental elements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, twist, handle, stoop, bend, and climb as per practice area-based Physical Demands Checklist

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities

Pay
Hourly pay range: $41.28 - $66.05. The actual salary offered will depend on individual factors including skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule
Three 12-hour shifts each week, including weekends and holidays.
