About the Role
The Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical Unit provides safe, individualized, and effective nursing care for hospitalized patients and outpatients.
Responsibilities
- Assumes duties within licensure scope, demonstrating critical thinking and prompt response to clinical changes.
- Involves patients and families in care planning.
- Participates in team and organizational initiatives.
- Ensures medication safety and engages in quality improvement practices.
- Acts as a Unit Charge Nurse by overseeing shift operations, coordinating care, managing staffing, and investigating incidents.
- Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and contributes to trauma program development and various committees or projects.
- Delivers compassionate care while adhering to professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with standards such as CMS, OSHA, and The Joint Commission.
Requirements
- Active RN license.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Certification within 180 days of hire.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Visual acuity and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Schedule
Rotating shifts, including nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
