Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse in the Med Surg Unit is responsible for delivering safe, individualized, and effective nursing care to hospitalized inpatients and outpatients.

Responsibilities

• Assumes duties within licensure and scope of practice
• Demonstrates critical thinking and responds promptly to clinical changes
• Involves patients and families in care planning
• Participates in ongoing professional development
• Engages in quality improvement
• Adheres to medication safety protocols
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams
• Ensures readiness for emergencies
• Acts as a Unit Charge Nurse, overseeing patient care, staff coordination, and ensuring safety and efficiency during shifts

Qualifications & Skills

• Must hold an active RN license
• Obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention certification within 180 days
• Possess strong communication and visual acuity skills
