Registered Nurse (RN) | Maternal Fetal Clinic

Location: Avera Maternal Fetal Medicine Sioux Falls

Worker Type: Regular • Day Shift • 72 hours every 2 weeks (Monday-Friday 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, Tuesdays off)

Pay Range: $27.75 - $41.25 per hour, dependent upon experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care to patients and families
• Communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure excellent patient care
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following nursing standards
• Coordinate clinic patient care activities
• Prepare equipment and assist providers during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing
• Observe, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to drugs and treatments
• Oversee appointment scheduling, prioritizing emergency situations and maintaining timely patient flow
• Greet patients, prepare them for examinations, and screen for health history, vitals, and nursing assessments
• Document patient information in charts
• Instruct patients on sample collection and tests
• Respond to patient phone calls promptly with physician input
• Educate patients and families on diagnostic processes, medications, nutrition, and wellness
• Propose solutions to patient care crises and complaints
• Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies, ensuring cleanliness
• Prepare lists of required medical supplies
• Ensure proper labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol
• Perform quality control and maintain records for all lab testing

Requirements

• Ability to work the specified hours
• Visual acuity and communication skills sufficient to perform position duties, including distinguishing speech and other sounds
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
