Avera Internal Medicine – Aberdeen, SD. Regular, full-time position.
Position Highlights

Schedule
- Day Shift: Monday–Friday
- 72 hours per two-week pay period (full-time)
Pay
$20.00 – $41.25 per hour; actual rate dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform general nursing care to patients
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following nursing standards
- Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic
- Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing
- Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider
- Oversee appointment scheduling; ensure timely patient flow and preference for emergencies
- Greet patients, prepare them for exams, screen for health history, vitals, and nursing assessment
- Document patient information in charts
- Instruct patients in sample collection and tests
- Respond to patient phone calls with physician input
- Educate patients and families on diagnostic processes, medications, nutrition, and wellness
- Suggest solutions to patient care problems and complaints
- Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and ensure cleanliness
- Prepare supply lists and ensure proper labeling of pathology specimens per lab protocol
- Perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing
Requirements
- Active license with the applicable Board of Nursing (LPN) or one of the following certifications (Medical Assistant):
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – NHA with MA diploma
- CCMA (NHA) with one year of experience
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – AAMA
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – AMT
- Visual acuity and communication skills adequate to perform duties
- Ability to work specified hours
