About the role
A House Supervisor RN at Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is a key member of the post-acute care team. Reporting to the Senior or Chief Nursing Officer or Administrator on Call, this position involves after-hours leadership, patient care coordination, and ensuring high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Provides after-hours leadership, functions as a resource person for staff, assists in patient care, and is responsible for overall quality of patient care in the facility.
- Reports to the Senior or Chief Nursing Officer or Administrator on Call.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Documents patient care given.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Affords assistance to patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Requirements
- Current Tennessee or compact state RN license.
- Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.

Pay
The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This position requires 12 hour shifts as needed, 7p-7a, with 1 weekend every 6 weeks.
