Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice, PRN, Day Shift

Role Overview: This position involves providing compassionate hospice and palliative care to terminally ill patients of all ages using the nursing process. The nurse assesses patient and family needs, develops and updates individualized care plans, and ensures symptom management, including pain control. They perform physical assessments, document findings accurately, and communicate effectively with physicians and team members to coordinate care. The role includes educating patients and families, supporting end-of-life planning, and participating in bereavement follow-up and community education. The nurse supervises CNA interventions, participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives. They also assist with training new staff and volunteers and uphold compliance with all healthcare regulations and organizational policies. Qualifications & Skills Associate degree in Nursing; BSN preferredCurrent RN license; one year RN experience or completion of a residency programKnowledge of hospice care, grief processes, and regulatory standardsCritical thinking, problem-solving, and strong communication skillsValid driver’s license and auto insurance Key Responsibilities Assess and care for patients and families, updating plans based on changing needsPerform thorough assessments, manage symptoms, and document comprehensivelyCoordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary team membersProvide education and emotional support to patients and familiesOversee CNA interventions and ensure quality of careParticipate in team meetings, quality improvement, and community outreachSupport bereavement services and assist with orientation and training
