About the role

The Registered Nurse at Haven Behavioral Healthcare is responsible for leading patient care activities, assessing patients, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes. This position requires a strong background in psychiatric nursing and the ability to manage a high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to develop individualized plans of care and treatment modalities.
  • Identifies and manages risks, precautions, and expected outcomes for patients.
  • Administers medications safely and educates patients on their prescribed medications.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and documents care accurately and comprehensively.
  • Communicates with staff and patients to ensure continuity of care.
  • Adapts to a high-stress environment and assesses potential for patient escalation.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing, and exhibits critical thinking abilities.
  • Exhibits self-confidence and the ability to lead and direct others.

Requirements

  • Current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing, with one year of inpatient hospital experience preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to a high-stress environment and assess potential for patient escalation.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to serving culturally diverse and special needs populations.
  • Basic knowledge of normal physical and emotional development.
  • Critical thinking abilities and the ability to apply them for continuous improvement of patient care.
  • Self-confidence and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Successfully completed CPR certification and an Oceans-approved behavioral health de-escalation program.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist staff and patients.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and appropriate nursing interventions.

Pay
