About the Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Float RN can be assigned to two (2) or more units based on need and will maintain competency to practice in all units. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The RN also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care.

The RN is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients on an assigned unit. Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
  • Float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency in all assigned areas.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
  • Communicate with physicians about changes in patient clinical condition, including diagnostic study results and symptomatology.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or treatment response.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current (required for floating into E.R., O.R., PACU, Day Patient).
  • NRP and Basic Fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for employees floating to Women’s Services.
  • TNCC within 12 months of hire for employees floating to Emergency Department.
  • Able to float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay

Reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $43.00 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.

Schedule

Per Diem, PRN - Night 12-Hour Shift with rotating weekends.
