Responsibilities
- Delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry.
- Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department.
- Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
- Capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment.
- Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker.
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $49.39 to $66.39. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
