Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department - Per Diem

About the role

Seeking a registered nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department (ED) with night shifts, providing full-time staff coverage.

Responsibilities

• Performing comprehensive patient assessments, considering diverse backgrounds, and initiating appropriate interventions.
• Collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare teams to deliver quality care.
• Documenting accurately, evaluating patient responses, and adjusting care plans accordingly.
• Participating in performance improvement initiatives and departmental projects.
• Maintaining a clean and prepared treatment environment, ensuring equipment functionality.
• Attending staff meetings, providing in-service education, and adhering to policies and procedures.
• Promoting teamwork, effective communication, and timely family updates.

Qualifications

• Current California RN license, BLS, ACLS, with PALS, MICN, and TNCC certifications within one year of hire.
• Associate's degree or diploma from an accredited nursing program.
• Preferred 2-4 years of acute care experience, including 1 year in an emergency room.

Working conditions

Moderate physical effort, exposure to infectious and contagious diseases, emergency situations, and the need for critical judgment to prevent patient death.
