About the role

Full-Time Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Unit at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL. Schedule includes Day 12-Hour Shifts with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice, directing and guiding patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintain standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry and the Emergency Department.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition, including diagnostic study results and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment.
• Ensure knowledge of EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current.
• EDAP certified facilities: Completion of required annual education.
• Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate within 90 days of hire and maintain current.
• Trauma designated facilities: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain.
• Non-trauma facilities: TNCC preferred.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $35.35 to $53.58 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
