About the role
The experienced critical care Staff Nurse will provide care for patients in the Divisional Critical Care Resource Pool. As a Critical Float Pool Staff Nurse, you will cover several different critical care areas, including Medical ICU, Burn ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, and Coronary Care.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Ensure safety in practice, including reporting hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Understand the patient population served and tailor care accordingly.
- Supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members.
- Collaborate with other patient care providers.
- Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes.
- Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize plans for patients.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of critical care or recent/current telemetry experience.
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
- Must be I.V. certified from an approved facility or complete requirements for I.V. certification within 90 days of hire.
- Completion of all orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
Qualifications
- Current and active New Jersey RN licensure.
- Baccalaureate Degree or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS).
Schedule
- Night Shift, 7P-8A, 12.5-Hour Shift.
- Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Required to work every other weekend and holiday rotations.
Pay
$47.85 - $60.60 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
