About the role
Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator Electrophysiology (EP) to join our team. The position offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus eligibility and a flexible schedule with 10-hour shifts per week (40 hours total).
Responsibilities
- Carries out an appropriate plan of care based on assessment, clinical recommendations, and requirements in a team-oriented environment for cardiac procedures.
- Performs medication administration in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to standards of nursing practice and monitoring patients who have received sedation within the procedural care area.
- Documents care accurately and promptly in compliance with hospital and nursing standards using Cerner documentation hospital-wide and McKesson or "Change" documentation within the procedural area.
- Evaluates patient conditions continuously and works independently while providing appropriate education based on patient circumstances, conditions, cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Maintains pacing protocols under the guidance of the EP physician on Abbott Workmate and learns to remove and manage arterial and venous sheaths.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to perform procedures including permanent pacemaker implantation, biventricular ICDs, bi-ventricular pacemakers, Micra pacemakers, ablations for atrial fibrillation/flutter and cryo-ablations, SVT, ventricular tachycardia, loop recorder watchmen implantation, and more.
Requirements
- A current state RN license.
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
- ACELS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.
- One year of experience preferred, with recent critical care or EP/CL experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of pacing protocols and related equipment.
