About the role
Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Electrophysiology team.
Responsibilities
- Ensures readiness of equipment and supplies and recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential emergencies.
- Establishes a safe, therapeutic and compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and their significant others.
- Manages and facilitates quality care. Identifies and implements changes that enhance effectiveness of patient care delivery. Promotes and monitors compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory agency standards.
- Promotes and maintains clinical competencies through staff development activities.
- Coordinates departmental functions.
- Participates in electrophysiology and surgical procedures.
- Administers patient care as mandated by licensure, certification or registration.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge to ensure continuous quality of professional services.
- Provides age/developmentally appropriate patient procedures in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
Requirements
- Associate's degree from an accredited School of Nursing with three years EP lab experience and one year management or supervisory experience.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in applicable state, CPR certification, and ACLS certification.

- Ability to communicate on a professional level with physicians, nurses and other ancillary professional staff when discussing patient care, procedures or problems.
- Ability to comprehend instructions.
- Ability to obtain/communicate information to patients of varying age group and at their level of comprehension.
- Analytical skills necessary for problem assessment and solution with schedules and equipment.
- Ability to handle daily stressful environment and support employees and physicians in a critical patient care environment.
