About the role

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not-for-profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of the patients as assigned based on data collected through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data while also providing appropriate age-specific nursing interventions which are consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice.
• Maintain a professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
• Foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors.
• Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff.
• Utilize standard work in relation to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
• Contribute to the overall performance of the department through precepting and mentoring novice employees.
• Contribute to the department's growth and performance through hospital-system initiatives cultivating nursing-involved Evidence-Based Practices.
• Demonstrate continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Training

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

Requirements

• An active Registered Nursing License verified by LLR.
• BLS required for all nurses upon hire.
• Advanced resuscitative certification appropriate to population if serving in a charge nurse role.
