Registered Nurse (RN) - Charge - Observation Unit - Days

About the Role

This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced Med/Surg Observation Unit, managing patients with conditions such as chest pain, heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes. The nurse will assess, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care plans, ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess patient health needs, involving patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Identify nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes based on assessments.
• Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions to meet patient goals.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Serve as a department leader in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
• Maintain ACLS certification and oversee bedside handoffs during shift changes.

Requirements

• Diploma, Associate’s Degree (ADN), or higher in Nursing; BSN/MSN preferred.
• Preferred one year of RN experience; equivalent education and experience considered.
• Current Oklahoma RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required, with ongoing re-training.
• Less than one year of experience requires participation in a Nurse Residency Program.
