Responsibilities

  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
  • Formulates an individualized plan of care, revises plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and evaluates overall plan daily for effectiveness.
  • Maintains vigilance in monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition as appropriate to care team, provider, patient and family following chain of command as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting patient's rights.

Requirements

  • A current state RN license.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing Required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred.
  • Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • BCLS required.
  • ACLS/BCLS certification required.

Qualifications
