Registered Nurse (RN) - Birth Center - 32 hours/week, night shift

The Birth Center at Anna Jaques Hospital is a 12-bed LDRP unit serving Newburyport and the surrounding Merrimack Valley. We offer private patient rooms with state-of-the-art technology, working closely with all disciplines and as part of Beth Israel Lahey Health. The unit has 24/7 obstetrics and anesthesia coverage with a nursing staff of 45 and is a Baby-Friendly designated hospital with a strong focus on patient experience.

Responsibilities
- Advocate for patients and families to ensure positive patient care outcomes.
- Document all changes and relevant information regarding patient’s response to intervention, therapeutic regimens, and patient progress as it relates to the plan of care and response to teaching.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, peers, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Include patient, family, and caregivers in all aspects of care, ensuring explanations are understandable.
- Care for patients throughout triage, labor, delivery, recovery, cesarean sections, postpartum, and well newborn care.
- Attend deliveries when appropriate.
- Implement stabilization processes according to NRP guidelines.
- Respond effectively and professionally in crisis situations.
- Provide resources to assist patients and families with post-discharge needs.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts RN licensure (or eligibility).
- BLS Certification (required).
- NRP Certification (required within six weeks of hire).
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- 2 years of LDRP experience strongly preferred.
- BSN preferred.
- Influenza vaccination required as a condition of employment.
Schedule
- Option 1: 7p–7a twice per week and 11p–7a once per week.
- Option 2: 11p–7a four times per week.
- Night shift with weekend and holiday rotation.
Pay
Pay range: $36.93 – $80.96 per hour. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, and compensation is governed by its terms.
