Registered Nurse (RN) - Mother Baby- 30 hours, night shift

About the role

The Maternal Newborn Service at Beverly Hospital provides the full scope of perinatal care in collaboration with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, including prenatal evaluation of mother and fetus, intrapartum care for labor and birth, intraoperative and recovery care for operative delivery, postpartum care, maternal/newborn care as a couplet dyad for well babies, and special care for premature and newborns requiring a higher level of care. This is a night-shift position with shift differential pay, requiring every other weekend and holiday work.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and essential care for both mother and newborn, administration of medications/treatments, observation of patient progress, and evaluation of therapies to ensure alignment with standards and best practices for optimal outcomes.
• Provide evidence-based care addressing the physical, developmental, emotional, and psychological needs of mothers, newborns, and families from admission through discharge.
• Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop individualized healthcare plans for each patient.
• Support and educate patients and their loved ones to achieve maximum outcomes, including providing knowledge of community resources upon discharge.

The department includes strong interdisciplinary collaboration between labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, a level IIB special care nursery, the North Shore Birth Center, a parent education department, and a lactation consultation service.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
• This position will work in both Mother-Baby (MB) and Labor & Delivery (L&D); L&D experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably expects to pay: $37.00 - $84.71.
