Registered Nurse (RN) Ambulatory Surgical Center Per Diem Day

About the role

Ambulatory Surgical Center Registered Nurse (RN) at RWJBarnabas Health, working in the perioperative setting of the JCMC ASC 1 department. The RN collaborates with a multidisciplinary care team to provide safe, evidence‑based patient care, education, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early and advocating for patients.
• Provide safe, evidence‑based medications, treatments, and hands‑on care grounded in strong clinical judgment.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, supporting timely, well‑coordinated care decisions.
• Deliver clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Contribute during interdisciplinary rounds to promote seamless communication and smooth transitions of care.
• Participate in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability impacts outcomes.
• Pursue continued professional growth through continuing education, clinical ladder opportunities, and organizational resources.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required or active enrollment in a BSN program with expected completion.
• Two‑to‑three years of experience as a PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, or Emergency Room RN preferred.
• Comfortable using electronic medical record systems such as EPIC.

Pay

Hourly wage range: $47.85 – $67.04 per hour (actual compensation depends on education, skills, and experience).

Schedule

Per Diem, Monday – Friday, Day shift.
