About the role

We have an immediate opening for an Ambulatory Surgery Center Nurse Per Diem to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Clear Lake, Texas.

Schedule

• Per Diem, hours vary as needed
• Typical work shifts include on-call hours every other weekend from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM and/or weekday shifts from 5:30 AM to 1:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems and formulate patient care plans
• Perform initial preoperative assessment, develop a plan of care, and explain the subsequent phases of surgery
• Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
• Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
• Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
• Provide patient education

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• 2 to 3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred
• Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
• Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
