Role Overview

The RN Clinical Nurse is a vital member of an interdisciplinary team providing high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care in a perioperative setting. They practice under the guidance of Nurse Managers, following evidence-based standards aligned with the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and individualized care.
  • Deliver relationship-based, culturally sensitive patient care, involving patients and families through effective communication and education.
  • Ensure documentation and delivery of safe, quality care while promoting teamwork, collaboration, and a respectful clinical environment.
  • Participate in performance improvement, research activities, and shared governance to enhance patient outcomes and staff development.
  • Support evidence-based practice, research, and resource management to optimize care and safety.
  • Serve as a preceptor or mentor, support professional development, and adhere to organizational policies and safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years recent, acute care nursing experience.
  • Associates or Diploma in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
  • Active RN licensure, with certifications in BLS, ACLS, and multi-state licensure as required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and critical thinking skills; proficiency with technology and documentation.
