Role Overview
The RN Clinical Nurse is a vital member of an interdisciplinary team providing high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care in a perioperative setting. They practice under the guidance of Nurse Managers, following evidence-based standards aligned with the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
Responsibilities
- Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and individualized care.
- Deliver relationship-based, culturally sensitive patient care, involving patients and families through effective communication and education.
- Ensure documentation and delivery of safe, quality care while promoting teamwork, collaboration, and a respectful clinical environment.
- Participate in performance improvement, research activities, and shared governance to enhance patient outcomes and staff development.
- Support evidence-based practice, research, and resource management to optimize care and safety.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor, support professional development, and adhere to organizational policies and safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years recent, acute care nursing experience.
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Active RN licensure, with certifications in BLS, ACLS, and multi-state licensure as required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and critical thinking skills; proficiency with technology and documentation.
