Registered Nurse Resident - Medical Telemetry

About the Role

Responsible for completing core curriculum and clinical competencies in a Nurse Residency Program, working under supervision to refine nursing skills and knowledge. This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor, with variable work shifts and located at a medical telemetry department. The role emphasizes professional growth, patient advocacy, and adherence to healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in patient assessments, data collection, and documentation following unit standards.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, involving patients and families, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide safe, age-appropriate treatments and procedures, explain nursing care, and educate patients on discharge instructions.
  • Record and monitor patient responses, recognize emergencies, and initiate advanced therapies when necessary.
  • Delegate nursing tasks appropriately, participate in quality improvement efforts, and adjust staffing based on patient needs.
  • Perform all clinical skills under supervision and adhere to organizational policies, including confidentiality and infection control.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Current RN license or provisional/graduate license with NCLEX scheduled.
  • No prior experience required; candidates with more than 12 months of experience are ineligible.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and compliance with safety and policy standards.
