Registered Nurse Resident - Medical Telemetry

About the role

The position involves participating in a Nurse Residency Program by attending classes, workshops, and peer groups while developing nursing skills under supervision. The nurse will assist in managing clinical situations, adhering to organizational policies, and completing required competencies.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document patient data, identify needs, and prioritize care under RN supervision.
• Develop and revise care plans, incorporating patient and family input, and make referrals as needed.
• Administer treatments, procedures, and discharge instructions following standards of practice.
• Record care activities, monitor patient status, and recognize emergencies for prompt action.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, participate in quality improvement, and ensure safe working conditions.
• Complete clinical skills, support unit operations, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor's preferred.
• No prior experience required; candidates with more than 12 months are ineligible.
• Current RN license or provisional license with NCLEX eligibility.
• Ability to follow policies, demonstrate critical thinking, and work collaboratively.

This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor or manager. Work shift is variable; location is at a healthcare facility.
