Role Overview

The RN Resident participates in a 12-month Nurse Residency Program designed to support new graduate RNs with less than six months of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centered nursing care following standards and the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, adapt care to diverse populations, and uphold ethical and professional standards.
  • Complete structured orientations and specialty sessions, supported by educators, preceptors, and leadership, to develop clinical skills, critical thinking, and professional growth.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Must hold current RN licensure (single-state or multi-state).
  • Certifications in BLS or BLS Instructor are required.
  • Less than six months of experience needed.

Key Duties

  • Ensure safe, evidence-based care, communicate effectively with patients and families, and support service excellence.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, cultural competence, and adherence to regulatory standards in all nursing activities.
