Role Overview
The RN Resident participates in a 12-month Nurse Residency Program designed to support new graduate RNs with less than six months of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered nursing care following standards and the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, adapt care to diverse populations, and uphold ethical and professional standards.
- Complete structured orientations and specialty sessions, supported by educators, preceptors, and leadership, to develop clinical skills, critical thinking, and professional growth.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Must hold current RN licensure (single-state or multi-state).
- Certifications in BLS or BLS Instructor are required.
- Less than six months of experience needed.
Key Duties
- Ensure safe, evidence-based care, communicate effectively with patients and families, and support service excellence.
- Demonstrate professionalism, cultural competence, and adherence to regulatory standards in all nursing activities.
