About the role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pulmonary Medicine Unit to provide high-acuity patient care.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate individualized care plans to achieve patient outcomes.
- Assess patients and collect health data in collaboration with families and healthcare teams.
- Communicate care plans effectively, respecting patient preferences and educating on disease management, emergency care, and medications.
- Support professional development of colleagues and contribute to a compassionate, supportive environment.
- Assist with procedures such as injections, venipuncture, IV management, and oxygen therapy.
- Participate in performance improvement, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Monitor wound, ostomy, and skin care patients (if skilled), and ensure regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; a Bachelor's is preferred.
- Active Illinois RN license.
- BLS certification, ACLS within 6 months, and current CPR.
- Inpatient nursing experience is highly preferred.
