About the role
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Pulmonary Medicine Unit, providing care for higher acuity patients.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate individualized care plans, adjusting interventions for optimal outcomes.
- Assess patient health data, communicate care plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, and document all interactions.
- Provide patient and family education tailored to cultural background and learning needs, including disease management and community resources.
- Support professional development of peers and contribute to a collaborative environment.
- Assist with technical procedures such as injections, venipuncture, drug administration, and IV therapy.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, stay current with research, and support evidence-based practice.
- Conduct wound/ostomy/skin care rounds if skilled, and monitor treatment effectiveness.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and assist in transporting acutely ill patients as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing or higher; must obtain a Bachelor's if holding an RN diploma within five years.
- Current Illinois RN license.
- ACLS and BLS certifications, with ACLS within six months of hire.
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Inpatient nursing experience.
