Registered Nurse - Psych

The medical staff includes more than 160 physicians and 21 resident physicians. Services include 24/7 emergency care, general surgery, medical stabilization for substance abuse, behavioral health for adults over 55, and the only cardiac rehabilitation program in Columbiana County.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients, educate them about mental and medical conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members.
• Run therapeutic groups and perform psychiatric crisis intervention, including seclusion and restraint of patients.
• Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms, perform diagnostic tests, analyze results, and operate medical machinery.
• Administer treatment and medications, and assist with patient follow-up and rehabilitation.
• Teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, including diet and exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and physical therapy.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• Minimum of two years' recent bedside experience.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health.

Pay

$62.00 per hour
