Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit - F/T - Days

About the role

The Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for delivering safe and excellent individualized patient care. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and administer medications using advanced technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes comprehensive patient data for assessment and planning.
• Develops and implements a plan of care that addresses patient needs and outcomes.
• Communicates with patients and families, other healthcare providers, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Administers medications accurately and documents care using electronic systems.
• Evaluates patient progress towards achieving outcomes and adjusts care plans accordingly.
• Adapts to changing patient conditions and responds to ethical issues.
• Participates in ongoing education and competency development.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate's degree in nursing or a diploma in nursing.
• BSN in progress and willing to obtain within three years of hire.
• A current and valid Registered Nurse license at the assigned HMH location by date of hire.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Relevant nursing experience of at least six months or participation in the Nurse Residency Program.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to patient needs, and demonstrate strong teamwork and patient focus.
• Prior experience in PACU, ED, telemetry, critical care, or a related field is preferred.
• National certification in the area of specialty is preferred.
