Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit

About the role

The registered nurse coordinates the delivery of nursing care for monitored patients during their hospital stay including cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic stabilization, and responsive to emergent situations. They ensure quality nursing care in compliance with state and departmental standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Performs purposeful hourly rounding including: Pain, Position, Personal needs and Possessions
• Administers medication to patients as directed
• Initiates and monitors IV’s and IV medication

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Must possess valid State of Michigan Nursing License
• BLS certified
• ACLS certified within 6 months of hire
• TNCC certified within 1 year of hire
• 2 years previous experience as an RN in Critical Care or PACU

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in OR/PACU/OP/ENDO preferred
• Previous experience working in critical care preferred
• Previous work experience within the specific unit specialty preferred

• Maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respects patient’s rights
