Registered Nurse - Pediatric ICU - Full-Time

Role Overview

The nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex patient care, while demonstrating awareness of various situational aspects. They manage long-term goals, develop contingency plans, and delegate tasks to care providers to effectively handle clinical situations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring side-effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• At least 1 year of related nursing experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the state or a compact license.
• Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Completion of orientation and competency validations is mandatory.
• Additional certifications may be required within specified grace periods based on experience and specialty.

Additional Requirements

• Experience in pediatric or perinatal nursing is preferred.
• Participation in specialized training such as neonatal resuscitation, fetal monitoring, and trauma care, with timely certification acquisition.
• Work is on a per diem, as-needed basis without fixed schedules.
