Registered Nurse (Pathway to Excellence and Magnet Recognition Coordinator)

About the role

The Registered Nurse Pathway to Excellence and Magnet Recognition Program Coordinator is responsible for all nursing process elements, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care based on age-specific components. They also coordinate care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
• Demonstrate performance and leadership that improves the care of all areas within assignments.
• Provide formal or informal constructive feedback to peers for improvement.
• Support colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to ensure safe, quality nursing care.
• Foster a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals.
• Lead efforts with management and within the Shared Governance Structure to address identified care and cultural disparities between units.
• Evaluate outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations.
• Support the Nursing Emergency Operations Coordinator during surges/crisis, including activities such as implementation of emergency staffing plans, operational procedures and protocols, emergency management functions, etc.
• Maintain nursing skills by working at the bedside 8 hours every 60 days.
• Work in assigned areas, with primary duty station in Dallas, Texas, but responsible for fulfilling duties at all VANTHCS locations.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

• English Language Proficiency
• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by an accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• Current - full - active - and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
• Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and no additional professional nursing experience
