About the role
The registered nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating comprehensive nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions. They support professional nursing practice across diverse settings, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Practice Model. The RN provides leadership through mentoring, committee participation, quality improvement, and delegation based on skill, experience, and patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care
- Supporting patient safety and satisfaction
- Participating in leadership activities
- Possibly driving personal vehicle as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Baccalaureate nursing degree
- Preferred one year of RN or LPN experience at Mayo Clinic
- Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, computer proficiency, and adaptability
- Current RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Additional licensure or certifications may be necessary based on work area; position may require state licensure and certification as per work location
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and mentoring skills
