Registered Nurse Paralegal

Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A., a full-service law firm serving clients throughout Florida, is seeking a Registered Nurse Paralegal with 5+ years of experience to work with their medical malpractice and general liability litigation team in the Fort Lauderdale office. Responsibilities Assist attorneys with medical evidence preparation and organization for depositions, hearings and trial – compile witness specific medical records to assist with provider depositions/trialReview and analysis of medical records to evaluate care and status of the claimant/plaintiffPreparation of medical chronologies, case specific timelines and medical summariesAssist with retention, communication and preparation of expert witnesses and expert materialsAssist with discovery and medical research, including case analysis memoranda for attorneysCreate outlines and narrative summaries, chronologies of medical records and correspondence and reports from expert opinions for clients Qualifications Excellent written and oral communication skillsResearch, analytical, organizational and critical thinking requiredHigh degree of initiative and the ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasksAbility to work in a team environmentFlexibility to work overtimeAbility to work with minimal supervisionProficient understanding & utilization of medical technology, anatomical drawing, laboratory technology and medicationPossess thorough understanding of medical conditions to explain a diagnosisMinimum of 6-8 years of experience as a registered nurse5+ years of law firm experience Education Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing requiredParalegal Certification preferred Technical Knowledge Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; general knowledge of AI platformsFamiliarity in using an electronic document management system.
