Registered Nurse - PACU (Full-Time, Day/Eve)

About the role

Seeking an experienced RN to collaborate with the healthcare team in diagnosing and treating patients by using clinical judgment. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, ensuring coordination across disciplines.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assessment: Conduct comprehensive multi-system evaluations, identify deviations, and perform discharge assessments.
  • Planning: Develop individualized care plans, coordinate care and discharge, delegate activities appropriately, and prioritize patient needs.
  • Implementation: Initiate protocols, execute physician plans, accurately document care and medications, utilize multidisciplinary approaches, and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Evaluation: Assess effectiveness of care, participation in quality assurance activities, and monitor patient responses.

Qualifications

  • Minimum nine months of RN experience, with 2-5 years in critical care.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and RN license (Oregon).
  • PALS certification within 6 months.

Skills & Additional Requirements

  • Proficiency in computer skills and advanced assessment capabilities.
  • Ability to manage up to two post-anesthesia patients, respond calmly to crises, and work collaboratively within a surgical team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous healthcare or PACU experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Additional certifications like PALS & NIHSS are advantageous.

Schedule

The role involves weekday and weekend call responsibilities, typically Monday to Thursday.
