Registered Nurse, Outpatient Surgery - Full Time Days

Job Summary

RN-Outpatient Surgery provides direct and comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing same-day surgical procedures in an outpatient setting. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient surgical experiences.

Essential Functions

• Provides pre-operative nursing assessment and education to patients and families
• Affords assistance in preparing patients for surgery including IV starts, pre-medication, and documentation
• Maintains monitoring of patient condition during recovery and post-anesthesia care
• Cooperates with surgical and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely patient flow
• Documents patient care clearly and accurately in compliance with standards
• Advocates for the safety, privacy, and comfort of all surgical patients

• Ability to manage multiple patients in a high-volume, fast-paced outpatient setting

• Maintains physical ability to perform required duties, including prolonged standing and assisting in patient mobility
