Overview
Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a Registered Nurse for the Joints/Observation unit. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience or interest in postoperative joint surgery care and observation patients. Flexible scheduling!!
Duties/Responsibilities
- The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
- The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency Program
This 10-week TTP program focuses on the orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in Medical-Surgical areas. For new graduates, this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program to support your transition to practice. Program includes: Formal delivery of fundamental nursing concepts and standards with in-person sessions utilizing case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence-based practice guidelines Hands-on experience alongside a trained nurse preceptor Opportunity to share your experiences/ networking with peers in a safe, protected environment A series of virtual professional development sessions with mentoring (optional for experienced nurses)
Pay
Sign on bonus up to $20,000 offered plus relocation assistance if specified criteria is met.
