About the Role
Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform scrub functions, including handling instruments and supplies.
- Conduct circulating duties such as monitoring patient conditions, recording, and communicating updates, and managing overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
- Assist surgeons with tasks like hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing, obtained prior to employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire, from American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Minimum education: diploma from an accredited nursing school.
