Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Days)

Position Overview

Provides professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub functions, handling instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Conducts circulating duties, monitoring and communicating patient conditions, managing overall pre-, intra-, and post-operative care.
• Assists surgeons with tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
• Prepares operating rooms, instruments, and equipment for surgical use.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and infection control.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a high-pressure environment.
