The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room provides comprehensive perioperative care, ensuring patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures. This role involves preparing the operating room, handling surgical equipment, scrubbing in and circulating across various specialties, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The RN participates in complex surgeries using advanced technology, advocates for patients under anesthesia or sedation, and maintains high standards of safety, infection control, and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based perioperative nursing care.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room and handle surgical equipment.
• Scrub in and circulate across various surgical specialties.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and technicians.
• Participate in complex surgeries using advanced technology.
• Advocate for patients under anesthesia or sedation.
• Maintain high standards of safety, infection control, and ethics.
• Supervise team tasks and individualize patient care plans.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ASN or Nursing Diploma (required).
• Prior OR experience or perioperative training.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred or completion within five years of hire.
• CNOR certification (preferred).

Schedule

• Evening hours, with on-call, weekends, and holidays as needed.
