About the role
Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) with a focus on surgical care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating patients before surgery and preparing them with intravenous therapy, medications, and site verification.
- Providing patient and family education about procedures and peri-operative care.
- Participating in surgical site verification, adhering to protocols such as briefing, timeout, and debriefing.
- Recognizing and responding to patient emergencies promptly.
- Delivering high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices and continuous improvement.
- Monitoring patient condition during shifts, documenting changes, and educating patients and families on medical conditions and follow-up.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including providers, surgeons, and technologists.
- Applying nursing processes, critical thinking, and technical skills to ensure safe care delivery.
Qualifications
- RN licensure, with Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within six months.
Schedule
- Self or preferred scheduling posted four weeks in advance.
- On-call required during select non-business hours.
