Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced RN to provide professional nursing care in an Operating Room setting. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, adhering to physician orders and department standards. The RN will perform clinical duties such as conducting assessments, developing individualized care plans, managing patient assignments, and supporting patient and family education. Responsibilities include participating in performance improvement initiatives, ensuring evidence-based practice, and mentoring new staff members.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care within scope of practice.
• Develop and revise care plans based on patient needs.
• Support discharge planning and resource referrals.
• Participate in team and departmental activities, including professional development and quality improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year OR experience, with circulating and scrubbing skills.
• Knowledge of nursing process and effective communication skills.
• PREFERRED: BSN degree.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Occasional lifting, prolonged standing, patient handling, and exposure to infectious materials.
• Fine manual dexterity, visual, and auditory acuity are essential.
