About the role
Provides direct patient care in a surgical setting, performing circulating and scrub functions to ensure a safe and efficient operative environment. Monitors patient condition, manages sterile fields, prepares instruments, and supports complex, high-acuity surgical patients with critical thinking and minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assess the operative environment and patient prior to surgery.
- Monitor and communicate patient status during procedures, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Handle surgical instruments, perform counts, and maintain sterile fields.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Nurse licensed in the state, with a preferred BSN.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; CNOR preferred.
- At least 6 months of OR nursing experience or completion of a fellowship.
- Critical thinking, decisiveness, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
