About the role
This position is for a registered nurse in a fast-paced Med/Surg Observation Unit, specializing in telemetry and medical-surgical care for patients with conditions such as chest pain, heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments, involving patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Develop nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes based on assessments.
- Implement and coordinate evidence-based nursing interventions to meet patient needs.
- Evaluate patient outcomes using critical thinking and current knowledge, adjusting care plans as needed.
- Assess discharge planning requirements, utilizing available resources.
- Maintain professional practice standards in all nursing activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or ADN required; BSN or MSN preferred.
- Previous hospital experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Current Oklahoma RN license.
- Required BLS certification, maintained throughout employment.
- New graduates must complete a nurse residency program.
