Job Summary
Gritman Medical Center is seeking compassionate Staff Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Medical Surgical and Critical Care units.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct and indirect patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes.
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop and execute individualized care plans for patients of all ages.
- Performs patient and family education.
- Mentors students and novice nurses.
- Adheres to professional nursing standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Works effectively in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
- Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho or a compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtain within 12 months of hire).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (or obtain within 12 months of hire).
- Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong critical thinking and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to attend annual skills fairs and maintain clinical competencies.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Experience in medical-surgical or critical care nursing.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. from floor to waist occasionally.
- Frequent lifting of 2-8 lbs. from floor to overhead.
- Ability to perform patient transfers and provide physical support.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasional sitting.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills such as administering injections and using medical equipment.
- Visual and auditory acuity to perform essential nursing duties.
Work Environment
- Exposure to various patient conditions and potential infectious diseases.
- Work in a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress environment.
- May be required to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Regular interaction with patients from diverse backgrounds and with varying medical conditions.
