Role Overview
Provides professional nursing care in a Level III NICU, utilizing critical thinking to assess, plan, and evaluate patient conditions. Collaborates with team members, delegates tasks appropriately, and ensures family-centered care in a 35-bed single-room unit. Occasional floating to other women and children units is required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; Bachelor's Degree required within five years if Associate Degree is highest.
- Current Illinois RN licensure and BLS certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months of employment.
- NICU experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient status, recognize changes, monitor progress, and document observations.
- Delegate appropriate care tasks to staff and work as part of a cohesive team.
- Adhere to hospital policies and Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act.
