Registered Nurse - Neurosciences and Specialty Care Surgery Unit

About the role

Regions Hospital is seeking an exceptional, patient-focused Registered Nurse to join the Neurosciences and Specialty Care Surgery Unit. This unit is a 36-bed facility with all private rooms, certified by the Joint Commission for comprehensive stroke care. It also cares for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients with neurological problems and spinal cord disorders resulting from surgery, and patients with post-operative spinal drains. The unit is known for its Level I Trauma Center expertise and nursing staff play a crucial role in the exceptional care provided.

Responsibilities

• Care for acutely ill adult & geriatric patients with neurological problems and spinal cord disorders resulting from surgery
• Provide comprehensive stroke care
• Care for patients with surgical specialty needs including urology and ENT procedures
• Manage clinical practice and working environment through the Shared Governance Model
• Participate in the Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program for new hires

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing and 1 year of RN experience
• Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota
• CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
• One year of acute care RN experience preferred

0.70 Nights. Mix of 8 and 12 hour shifts. Every 3rd weekend rotation.
