About the Role
The staff nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. They work within organizational policies, demonstrating professional growth, accountability, and maintaining standards of practice. The nurse coordinates patient care activities for an energetic team of nurses, patient care techs, and secretaries, focused on patient safety and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on individual needs and acuity.
- Coordinate and supervise assigned staff to deliver quality nursing care.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies and standards.
- Support professional relationships and team development.
Requirements
- Graduate of a nursing program; new graduates eligible.
- Current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC multistate license.
- BLS certification required.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and hospital experience.
- Preferred: Advanced certification in specialty areas.
Work Environment
The unit has 29 beds, serving surgical, trauma, and medical patients, including GI, vascular, breast, thyroid, maxillofacial surgeries, and trauma cases. Patients may have drains, feeding tubes, ostomies, or multiple injuries. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center, with opportunities for growth and leadership development within a collaborative team.
