About the Role
6 Round Wing is an adult Medical-Surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6. The unit cares for individuals with complex conditions, including respiratory, gastrointestinal, renal, neurological, psychiatric, cardiac, and infectious diseases.
This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. You will communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team, collaborate in establishing patient goals, and evaluate progress to ensure effective outcomes. Professional growth through learning activities aligned with Board of Nursing standards is encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery, and anticipate patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient’s care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employ strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Technical Capabilities
- Evidence-Based Practice (Novice): Possesses fundamental proficiency to search for evidence to answer clinical questions, generally under the direction of others.
- Care Planning (Novice): Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments with adaptability to changes in patient care.
- Nursing Patient Education (Novice): Provides patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
- Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in assessing and evaluating patients, conducting interviews, and gathering pertinent clinical data.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of RN experience.
- Nursing degree from an approved program.
- State or Compact RN license (TN license required within 60 days of establishing Tennessee residency, even with a compact license).

Schedule
Three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including some weekends.
